This listing is for (1) Antique English Advertising Lidded Pot w/Base Maw’s Indian Betel Nut or Areca Tooth Paste – Unequalled for its Salutary Effects on the Teeth & Gums – S. Maw Son & Thompson – Aldergate Street – London – England
Tooth Pastes were by far the most popular commodity sold in pots with printed lids. It is thought that there are 998 different printed lids, now all are very scarce, many rare.
Both the lid and the base are in great condition with only a small chip to the base which does not show when displayed. Please consider the images as the best part of my description.
Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
I offer substantial savings in shipping costs when multiple items are combined into one package. I will credit any overpayment of postage charged to you after finding the best shipping option.
