This is a listing for one (1) James Keiller Dundee 3# (3 pound) Marmalade Pot c. 1897. You will receive the actual pot pictured. Very Good Condition – Displays Extremely Well – 2 small interior lip chips as pictured, no cracks.
This pot has survived over 100 years….first as packaging for the famous DUNDEE Marmalade, when empty thrown away, buried and then dug up, incredibly in one piece. I love these large size Keillers!
Each of these charming pots were hand made between 1860 and 1920 to store prize winning Marmalade. This particular size is very scarce, my English sources save these awesome both digging up these rare wonderful pieces curated from my travels to England while visiting my daughter and her family in London.
These incredibly charming pots vary slightly in shape and size as each piece was handmade.
Pots usually contain crazing , spots of discoloration, hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabits that only add to its character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use as they were often buried for decades and now are being dug up and rescued.
Perfect to store pens, flatware, paintbrushes, candles, cotton balls, or just to admire as one of a kind decor.
