This is a listing for one (1) Rare Mini – The Egyptian Salve Antique English Advertising Ointment Pot. The pot reads:
Some of the pot’s type is faded and it does have a few cracks on the backside. Additionally the type runs off the bottom of the pot, a defect in the manufacturing. This mini ointment pot still displays beautifully and is a darling and rare addition to your Antique English Advertising Pot collection.
This ancient pot was curated during my travels to England’s Famous Antique Markets while visiting my daughter and her family in London. Dates late 1800’s.
The original Reade Brothers chemist and druggist company grew into a diverse business in Wolverhampton selling a large range of products including cattle food, beer finings, paint and varnishes. The company continued to trade, more latterly as an estate agent, until July 1999, when the company was finally dissolved.
Please consider the images as the best part of my description.
Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
