This is a listing for one (1) antique English Ironstone Broody Egg. I will select one egg from these pictured for your order. Each egg is unique and has been excavated from a large Victorian Era Dump Site in London which dates back to the 1880’s. As you can see all of these eggs are have varing degrees of age and burial related marks and are sold as found. Rare and Wonderful selection!
These eggs were used to encourage hens to produce more eggs. If there is an egg or two in the nest, the hens can’t tell that their morning deposit went missing by noon. Therefore the hens are less likely to change nest locations to fool an egg predator.
