ANTIQUE BROODY EGGS
This is a listing for one (1) of the above pictured antique English Ironstone Broody Eggs. Each egg has the HYDE brand transferred onto it. Each egg is unique and has been excavated from a London Victorian Era Dump Site dating back to the 1880’s. The eggs have varing degrees of age and burial related marks and are sold as found. .
These eggs were used to encourage hens to produce more eggs. If there is an egg or two in the nest, the hens can’t tell that their morning deposit went missing by noon. Therefore the hens are less likely to change nest locations to fool an egg predator.
These eggs have obvious signs of age, crazing, chips and discoloration.
