Offering this rare C. C. Druce Chemist Pot, Oxford printed base w/plain Lid. C. C. Druce was a chemist operating in Oxford, England, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The business, was known as Druce and Co.

Antique English advertising pots from this era, such as those from C. C. Druce, were typically made of ironstone and featured underglaze transfer printing. These pots were used to store various products, including pharmaceuticals and household goods. After their contents were used, many of these pots were discarded and buried, only to be unearthed decades later by enthusiasts and collectors.

These antique advertising pots not only serve as decorative items but also offer a tangible connection to the commercial history of Oxford and the legacy of businesses like C. C. Druce. This base is in very good age based condition, very clean, no cracks and a few flat chips in the bottom. The lid is in good condition with some nice crazing. Please consider the images as the best part of my description.

Measures: 1 1/2” tall x 2 3/4” diameter

Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered additions to character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.

Returns are not accepted on these rare antique pieces.
