I am offering this Antique White Banded Sago Storage Container w/ lid. Sago is a dry granulated or powdered starch prepared from the pith of a sago palm and used in foods and as textile stiffening. The base unit is in excellent condition, pretty much blemish free with a few tiny hairline cracks. The lid is not the original, and is a replacement lid that fits pretty well but not perfect. You just need to twist it for it to fall in place. The lid is in very good condition with graphics on the bottom as the pictures show. Please review the pictures for the best description of this lovely container.

Measures 5” tall x 4 1/2” diameter

These classic English storage containers date from around 1900. Most were a staple in the everyday persons kitchen as it was the packaging used before plastics.

These charming pots are a great Antique element for your home. Look beautiful holding flowers, cooking utensils, paint brushes. Please study the images as they represent the exact pot you will receive.

Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.

I picked up these wonderful and rare sized pots on this last trip to England from one of my sources. All are in very good age appropriate condition as you can see when you study all images as they are the best representation of the actual item you will receive. These are scarce pots and getting harder and harder to source. Crazing and other signs of burial can be expected and add to the charm of these antique pots.

This is an authentic antique advertising pot sourced during my recent buying trip to England. I have been sourcing these wonderful antique pots for over 12 years from sources who are actually digging them up in ancient rubbish sites all over England. I purchased my first antique Advertising pot when my husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to live in England in the 1980’s. Our daughter was born there and we enjoyed living in England so much we often went back to visit after returning to the US.

Interestingly, this same daughter’s husbands job moved them to London were we have enjoyed visiting our grandchildren and traveling the countryside antiquing.

On our many visits we have became friends with many of the “diggers” excavating the ancient dumpsites all over the UK and now source thousands of pots top down from them every year. I still love the charm they add to every room they are placed in.

Returns are not excepted on these rare authentic pieces but please contact if you have any questions.

I offer substantial savings in shipping costs when multiple items are combined into one package.  I will credit any overpayment of postage charged to you after finding the best shipping option.
