Offering a Set of 2 Ink Bottles – The Fish & Ring Brand with the Fish Inside the Ring Motif, c. 1900. The fish and ring design on antique ink bottles was not only decorative but also symbolic. The fish often symbolized prosperity, luck, or rebirth, while the ring could represent unity, eternity, or even the idea of “circling back.” This combination of motifs would have been appealing to the Victorians, who appreciated symbolism in everyday items. The design likely appeared during the late 1800s into the early 1900s. The pots are in very good condition with no visible chips or cracks, and a significant amount of attractive age based crazing.

Both Measure Approximately – 6 3/4” tall x 2 1/2” diameter at base

These charming bottles are a great neutral addition to your Antique English Advertising Pot collection. Please study the images as they represent the exact pots you will receive.

Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.

I picked up these wonderful pots on this last trip to England from one of my sources. All are in very good age appropriate condition as you can see when you study all images as they are the best representation of the actual item you will receive. These are scarce pots and getting harder and harder to source. Crazing and other signs of burial can be expected and add to the charm of these antique pots.

This is an authentic antique advertising pot sourced during my recent buying trip to England. I have been sourcing these wonderful antique pots for over 12 years from sources who are actually digging them up in ancient rubbish sites all over England. I purchased my first antique Advertising pot when my husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to live in England in the 1980’s. Our daughter was born there and we enjoyed living in England so much we often went back to visit after returning to the US.

Interestingly, this same daughter’s husbands job moved them to London were we have enjoyed visiting our grandchildren and traveling the countryside antiquing.

Returns are not accepted on these rare authentic pieces but please contact if you have any questions.
