This is a listing for one (1) set of five (5)  Rare 3″  Antique Stone Filtration Balls – Set of 5

Starting as early as the late 1880’s/1890’s, the Water Works across the country used these porous limestone/sandstone balls to aid in filtering drinking water.  A number of years ago some old water towers were dismantled/removed and these balls were found inside the towers.

Each ball is 3 inches in diameter and weighs between 8 and 10 ounces. Each are unique in coloration. None are damaged beyond expected wear from age.
This listing is for a lot of 5 of these water filtration stones.  Four sandstone colored and 1 that has been covered in gold leaf.  Great decor item to fill bowls and and interesting history and texture to your room.  Look great displayed year round.
