Set of 8 – Square Antique French Butter Pats. Sold as a set, these pats have a beautiful floral design and all are in very good condition. Made by Tressemanes & Vogt (T&V) in Limoges, France. The T&V firm operated in Limoges beginning around 1880. The partnership consisted of Emile Tressemanes and Gustave Vogt, who took over a porcelain decorating studio and expanded production. T&V was active until about 1907.
On the back of the pats, there are two marks:
1. Green “T&V France” – This was a standard underglaze mark, showing the piece was made in Limoges.
2. Purple “T&V Limoges France” with “China” – This was an overglaze decorator/export stamp, typically applied for goods intended for the U.S. market.
These square pats each measure just under 2 3/4” wide and they stack beautifully
