A VINTAGE SCARCEW. LINGNER’S, DEUTSCHER SENF, COELN und DUSSELDORF, MOUTARDE, MUSTARD POT or JAR dating from the c1900s period which has been found buried in a Victorian rubbish tip. The pot measures 4 ½”  TallL X 2 ¾”  at the base.   Good overall condition being clean with no cracks or hairlines. The base edge has a flake on one side and a small nick on the other side. There is light aged related glaze cracking and a patina that has been caused by over 100 years of prolonged burial, there are also kiln blow faults plus usage wear on the pot and the base edge underneath which is only to be expected of these

Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value.  These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
