This listing is for (1) French Moutarde Dijon Grey-Poupon small sized pot with beautiful decorative transfers on both sides and transferred Digoin & Sarreguemines crest on base.  c. 1890.

“DIJON GREY-POUPON” — the famous Dijon mustard maker founded by Maurice Grey and Auguste Poupon.

Charming vintage French Grey Poupon mustard pot, decorated in black transferware on a creamy white glazed body.

The jar features different historic Grey-Poupon Dijon advertising designs on each side. One side displays an ornate crest with “Moutarde Forte au Vin Blanc” (strong mustard with white wine), “Maison Fondée en 1777,” “Dijon,” and “Grey-Poupon.”

The reverse features the bold Grey-Poupon monogram along with “Paris 1900,” “Hors Concours,” “Ce Pot de Moutarde doit porter la capsule,” “Marque Déposée,” and “Made in France.” Translated in English:
Hors concours — literally “outside the competition”; (typically indicating an award-winning distinction)
“This mustard pot must bear the Grey-Poupon seal/capsule
Grey-Poupon
Registered trademark
Made in France”
This beautiful white pot is in great condition with no chips or cracks. The extraordinary ornate labeling makes it one of my favorites. This is a smaller size at 3 1/2″ tall with a base diameter of 2 1/4″ and mouth opening of 1 1/2.”

This would be a standout in your advertising pot collection! Please view the images as your best description of this pot.

Returns are not excepted on these rare authentic pieces but please contact if you have any questions.
