This is a listing for one (1) James Keiller 1# Chubby Marmalade Pot c. 1879. You will receive this exact pot with a beautiful dark transfer and beautifully aged perfect patina. It is in excellent condition with 3 hairline cracks – two very short and slight at the top and one running horizontally along the side bottom rim. Maling – Newcastle On Tyne is incised in the base. Please view all images for exact condition.
Each pot was handmade between 1860 and 1960 to store award-winning Marmalade. These wonderful advertising pots vary slightly in shape and size, which lends to the character and desirability. Most pots will most likely contain crazing, varying spots of discoloration, minor hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that only add to its character, and do not detract from its display value. These are expected blemishes due to age, use, and being buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
