$44.00

1 in stock

Antique English stoneware ginger beer bottle made for H. G. Varney of Oxford, England. The cream-glazed bottle has a black transfer-printed circular trade mark reading “H. G. VARNEY / OXFORD”, surrounding an intertwined “HV” monogram.

This type of glazed stoneware bottle was used for commercially bottled ginger beer before glass bottles became dominant.

This ancient bottle is in GREAT condition. Please consider the images as the best part of my description.

Measures 6 1/2” tall x 2 ¾” diameter
Most pots have some level of crazing, may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that should be considered patina, additions to character and do not detract from its display value.  These are expected due to age as they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
