Antique A. W. Hall Pharmacist, Pinner, pharmacy pot / chemist jar.

A fascinating piece of English pharmaceutical and local history, bearing the original lettering:

PHARMACIST
PINNER

The underside is marked:

TOOGOOD
PATENT
LONDON

This unusual glazed pottery vessel has a wonderful dark grey-brown aged staining with extensive fine crazing throughout the glaze, giving it a particularly attractive aged appearance.

The pot was made for A. W. Hall, Pharmacist of Pinner, Middlesex. The Toogood Patent London marking appears on the underside.

The base is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The lid is also in good condition.

Measures: 2 1/2” diameter x 1 1/2” tall

Most pots have some level of crazing , may have spots of discoloration, light hairline cracks and minor chips and fleabites that only add to its character and do not detract from its display value. These are expected due to age, use and let’s not forget they were often buried for decades before being dug up and rescued.
