Rare antique Apollinaris advertising porcelain match holder with integrated striker, dating to approximately 1895–1915.
This handsome blue and white ceramic tabletop match holder advertises the famous Apollinaris mineral water. The ribbed cylindrical neck features a rough striker surface, designed for use with strike-anywhere matches, while the flared base provides stability and the open top holds wooden matches upright.
Originally intended for use in hotels, cafés, restaurants, pharmacies, or taverns, this is both a functional antique and an attractive advertising collectible.
