Offering this beautiful clean FELIX POTIN French Confitures Fines pot with lovely dark Blue/teal fancy transfer graphics. This 2 lb. pot reads:
“Confitures Fines Félix Potin Paris”
which translates to:
“Fine Jams – Félix Potin – Paris.
Félix Potin founded his grocery business in Paris in 1844. The company became renowned for selling high-quality foods under its own brand, including jams, chocolates, coffee, tea, spices, and preserves. By the late 19th century, Félix Potin had become one of France’s best-known grocery chains.
The green “SG France” backstamp on the base is significant. It indicates the pot was manufactured by Sarreguemines, a famous French pottery whose mark often consists of intertwined S and G letters with the word “France.”
This pot is in overall good condition, but has some chips on the back top lip, and two chips on the bottom. There are no cracks and very clean overall. This pot would display beautifully as part of your collection.
Measures approximately:
5 1/4” tall x 3 1/2” mouth

This is an authentic antique advertising pot sourced during my recent buying trip to England. I have been sourcing these wonderful antique pots for over 12 years from sources who are actually digging them up in ancient rubbish sites all over England. I purchased my first antique Advertising pot when my husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to live in England in the 1980’s. Our daughter was born there and we enjoyed living in England so much we often went back to visit after returning to the US.
Interestingly, this same daughter’s husbands job moved them to London were we have enjoyed visiting our grandchildren and traveling the countryside antiquing.
On our many visits we have became friends with many of the “diggers” excavating the ancient dumpsites all over the UK and now source thousands of pots from them every year. I still love the charm they add to every room they are placed in.
